figuring out education

It’s fairly obvious that the future of education lies in technology. So, in order to predict the future of education, we need to take a look at how technology advances other areas of our lives. I watch social media closely and it’s my job to share some of the hot topics on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and other outlets that teachers, principals, students, and parents are contributing.

Dr. Justin Tarte posted a tweet about a current trend in business made possible by technology. It’s a little eye-opening. Slowly but surely, it seems like the old business model is fading away. While the traditional company will stick around for a long time, it won’t surprise anyone if more online companies like the ones mentioned below start creeping into other areas. If technology and accessibility are changing the business world this drastically, then it’s bound to continue to transform education too. Dr. Tarte makes a good point. If we want to stay relevant, then education has to keep up with the rest of the world.

How do you think this business format would work in education? Has education already reached this point via online teaching? Where do you think the future of education is heading?
